Special Events & Services

Child-Centered Worship

Two to Four times a year GPBC offers services of worship geared to the developmental needs of children. Special services have included “Celebrating Creation” where children participated in the retelling of Genesis 1 and “Ways we Use our Hands”. Children used their hands to worship God through song, the creation of two altar cloths that are used in worship, and through hearing how Jesus blessed the children.

Easter party

On one Saturday prior to Easter children gather together for a party celebrating the Easter season. Children participate in crafts, play games, and gather at table for food during this event. All ages are welcome and the community is invited to attend.

Live Nativity

Children, youth, and adults gather for our annual Live Nativity during the second Sunday of Advent. The adult choir sings carols and all who wish to participate in the “picture” of the nativity dress in costume and are directed by the narrator as he/she tells the combined story from Luke & Matthew. Following each of the two tellings those in attendance are invited to enjoy hot cider and cookies. Members of the community look forward to this event each year. For more on Advent Worship see our calendar for November & December.

Sunday School Celebration

Up to four times a year all ages gather for table fellowship and Christian Education during the Sunday School hour in the Fellowship Hall. These intergenerational events are special for all ages.

The Live Nativity is a special event we really look forward to every Christmas season.
