Music

The Music Ministry seeks to enhance our worship experiences through meaningful and well prepared music in the classical church tradition. Special musical services and concerts throughout the year include a Service of Lessons and Carols during Advent and Maundy Thursday Communion. A graded choir and handbell program is designed to develop and use the talents of our members.

Chancel Choir:

For singers of college age and above, this choir regularly leads Sunday Worship and presents other special music services and concerts throughout the year. While members are not required to have extensive musical training, some musical aptitude and a commitment to growth are necessary for this vital choir.

Bell Choir:

This group consists of 9-11 ringers. No previous ringing experience is necessary, just the ability to read music. This choir performs in worship services and in other programs throughout their season.

Children’s Choirs:

For students in K through 6th grades, these groups are designed to develop musical skills and an appreciation for music and its role in the church. Age groupings are flexible to best meet the needs of the children involved. Focus is on learning and nurturing the enjoyment of musical expression. Training for participation in worship leadership is also an important part of the curriculum.

Youth Choir:

For students in the 7th-12th grades, this group is involved in learning vocal technique and music fundamentals, singing anthem literature, leading in worship and special services during the year, and enjoying fun and fellowship activities.
